The MAHOU DAYBED is fit for a modern gothic home on the moon. Its style embodies that of an ancient ruin of the future. Something left behind yet waiting to be discovered. The base of the daybed is inspired by my love for futuristic bridge design and MAHOU, the Japanese word for MAGIC or sorcery, is a word I use often in my work to embody a certain energy felt when imaging and building the silhouettes I want to create. Mahō no Hashi = Magical Bridge.
Each piece of this collection is designed to hold both the body and imagination. Honoring Japanese brutalist restraint and my love for futurism, this daybed is simultaneously grounded and otherworldly. Its carbon black concrete top is designed to mimic that of a volcanic lunar surface, paired with a black leather cushion and bolster.
The MAHOU daybed can also be fully customized if you prefer a lighter or brighter color palette or Sunbrella fabric for an outdoor loungey experience.
