SORA is the Japanese word for SKY. Inspired by the vast open skies of the high desert, the slender form of this chair is both aesthetically pleasing and comfortably functional. During my years of living at Arcosanti, AZ, I spent many hours admiring the shapes and shadows created by the other worldly architecture of Paolo Soleri and Tomiaki Tamura, often feeling transported to a different dimension or into the surrounding canyons. It’s upright back rest is an ode my favorite and most futuristic building on site: the Ceramics Apse.
The SORA dining chair can be fully customizable. Made from chrome plated or powdercoated steel and paired with a gfr concrete or wooden seat.
